So this is Christmas

Christmas Mass will look very different in 2020. Some parishes will host Mass in their parking lots and some are requiring reservations. With requirements for distance between families and capacity set at 66 percent, some parishes are adding extra liturgies to accommodate everyone. See the complete schedule of Christmas Masses for the diocese, from Arkansas Catholic.

“O Emmanuel, our King and Giver of Law: come to save us, Lord our God!” What a fantastically beautiful prayer welling up from the very deepest desire of every human soul: Come O Lord, be with us.

Reflection: Listen to O Come O Come Emmanuel. Visit with Jesus today about where you most need/desire him to be in your heart, soul, mind, and daily life. Where do you notice his nearness? Where have you kept him at arm's length? Try to let him get a little closer.

St. Stephen

December 26

The story of Christianity’s first martyr is recounted in the Acts of the Apostles. Stephen was among the first seven deacons chosen to serve the Greek-speaking Christian community in Jerusalem. He is the patron of deacons and stonemasons.
He died with courage and trust

Car Catastrophe

I let my fiancée use my car to get back and forth to work, and it has a lot of miles on it and a few mechanical issues. The money we’ve put into the car to fix the issues is about the same or more than the car is actually worth. How do you think we should handle buying a new car?
First, never do this...

Bishop had COVID-19

Please pray for Bishop Anthony B. Taylor as he recovers from COVID-19. He announced Dec. 10 that he tested positive and was in quarantine where he lives at the House of Formation in Little Rock. He said the monoclonal antibody infusion received Dec. 11 helped relieve many of his symptoms, but he was still coughing and fatigued.

"Pope Francis goes out of his way to surprise people, to get them to think, to go to a deeper, more mature understanding of their faith."

— Msgr. Timothy Verdon, director of the office of sacred art for the Archdiocese of Florence Dec. 15, on controversial Nativity scene at the Vatican
