Weekly Devotional

When singing the church’s songs have you ever considered the reasons some tunes stretch our vocal range? I experienced this first-hand this summer. It was in a Hymn Service. The musicians modulated higher than usual on the final stanza of “Now Thank We All Our God.” The entire congregation was almost shouting and their words were: “All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given…” If the tunes stretch our voices, might they not also stretch our hearts?

Worship @ Calvary, August 30, 2015:
In this Sunday’s sermon, “BE the Gospel,” Kahu Tim returns to the Gospel of Mark. In the Gospel we encounter Jesus challenging the traditional ways in which religious people determine what is pure or impure. Also at both services Katie Kam shares a testimonial of her mission trip to Russia, and Clara Whippy is installed as the new director of PAC.
