Weekly Devotional

Several Sundays ago the Prayers of the Church included this petition, “Give growth to trees and shrubs, grasses and all flowering things, that their beauty may flourish for their sakes and ours.” Have you ever considered that we humans are simply observers to the profound beauty all around us? Have you ever considered that God created all of this beauty NOT for our sake only, but also for the sake of the trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers themselves? Have you ever considered that this beauty continues even when it isn’t seen with our eyes? Thanks be to God for the splendor, beauty, and mystery of this universe!!
