“But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear.”  (Matthew 13:16)

We are so blessed with all the visual gifts of God has given us, here in Hawaii.  Everyday, we can see the beautiful flora, to the amazing birds, fishes and other animals. ‘Seeing’ and even ‘smelling’ the beauty of God is so easy for us if we only open our eyes and really allow ourselves to see and wonder. We can even close our eyes, and the sound of the ocean waves can calm us, and even give us a sense of peace, or sometimes, humility. And, with our Baptismal Promise, we have been blessed with eyes that can SEE the heart of our neighbor. Through eyes of faith, we can SEE the handiwork of God. With a heart born of faith, we can even serve one another by offering the gift of listening without judgement. We can hear the pain or joy of another, and be the one that quietly lets others know they too are loved by God beyond understanding and with grace that can heal all of our wounds. Through faith, we have been given the art of really seeing, and really hearing. May God bless us all through the gift of our eyes and ears.

See you in church!
