Alise Semjonova, the Co-founder and UX designer of Infogram - the world's favourite data visualisation tool - has been named in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2017 list, media category. Other nominees from Latvia are the basketball player Kristaps Porziņģis and the startup Sorry as a Service, co-founded by Sabīne Pole.

The Latvian ice-sculptor team from Jelgava – Kārlis Īle, Maija Puncule and Ainars Zingniks – have won yet another prize in the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival. Their sculpture “The Snow Heart” got the second place in the snow sculpture category.

On Thursday, February 9, an annual meeting of President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis, President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite and President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid as well as a quadripartite meeting of the Presidents of the three Baltic States and President of Federal Republic of Germany Joachim Gauck will be held in Riga. During the meeting, the Presidents will discuss current issues regarding international cooperation and security, whereas the four Presidents will give their joint press statements after the luncheon.
