Message from the President
Fall is upon us.
I hope everyone and their families enjoyed the great weather we enjoyed in BC over this past summer. Now that the kids are back in school and schedules have returned to some sort of normalcy, the executive board would like our membership to start planning for some of the key EIA dates that are coming up.
Our September dinner meeting is on Monday, September 21 and is going to be held at a new location this month. Burnaby Mountain golf course has graciously opened its doors to us for our fall dinner meeting. Our special guest speaker for this meeting will be Mr. Ark Tsisserev. Ark will be giving a presentation on the "Application and Installation Requirements for Electrically Connected Life Safety Systems - Facts and Misconceptions." Long title that will also have a large amount of information packed into a short timeframe. I would like to thank Ark for his continued support of the EIA and I'm sure the subject will be of benefit to our EIA members.
Our Christmas dinner meeting is not too far away as well. We are planning to have the dinner on November 23 with all the usual prizes, great food and hopefully monetary support for the CKNW Orphans Fund. Mr. Len Rhodes has kindly stepped forward to help with the Orphans Fund this year. Once again we have a good man donating his time for a fantastic cause, so please help us raise money for the kids. Any questions regarding the the CKNW Orphans Fund can be sent directly to Len at jlmrhodes@telus.net.
Last but not least is the scheduling of our always anticipated Code Review Seminar for the newest edition of the Canadian Electrical Code. We are expecting the adoption of the newest edition of the CEC to happen later this year. That being, said the executive team has decided to present the seminar on January 23 of 2016. This one day event will highlight all the key changes to the newest edition of the CEC and the presenters will include Mr. Ark Tsisserev P.Eng., Mr. Ted Simmons (BCIT), Mr. Carlo Turra (BCSA) and Mr. George Razzo (BCSA). Cost for the event is $175 for members and $200 for non-members. Please mark this date on your calendars as this is one event you will not want to miss. Check out our website for payment options and any further information.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this coming September 21st at the Burnaby Mountain Golf Course.
Thank You.
