FHWA and Buy America

NPCA is continuing to talk with the Federal Highway Administration about the recent District Court ruling that instructed FHWA to lift its exemptions for miscellaneous steel and iron components and strictly interpret the Buy America provisions for FHWA-funded construction. Ty Gable, NPCA president, and Rich Krolewski, director of certification and regulatory services, met with Greg Nadeau, FHWA Administrator, at FHWA in Washington, D.C., on April 29 to update the agency's highest-ranking official on how the court ruling impacts the precast concrete industry. We will continue to work on this issue and keep you informed as it progresses.

If you have an interesting use of an additive that you’d like to see highlighted, please contact Mason Nichols, managing editor, at mnichols@precast.org.
