Australian Masters Games Sprint Day

Wednesday 13th October 2021
Champion Lakes Regatta Centre

Hi All,

This is an all-day sprint regatta for 35y-and-over Masters athletes. The event needs volunteers and many of the personnel that usually run the regattas are racing on the day. So we need help!

We realise this is a weekday, many are working, or studying/exams. However, if you are able to help, PLEASE let us know by registering on the sheet below. We need to know who can help in advance, so please put your name down early. If you're unsure this far in advance, but may be available, please indicate.

Many roles can be developed with training prior to race day. THANKS from all the older sprint folk. Sprint Technical Committee

Club Doors Left Open

REMINDER: Please close the shed doors!

It doesn't take much for someone to walk in and help themselves. If no-one is in the shed then please shut the door. All members have a key fob and it's no problem opening the shed again.

Unfortunately there will be no insurance payout if the door is left open. We can also identify who was the last to open the door by checking our key fob software.

If you don't want to be responsible for replacing many boats we recommend being extra vigilant.

Meet at the Flag
AKC Social Paddle

AKC Club Members

This is an informal way to find people to paddle with.

If you have just finished the Introduction course recently and are looking for a few fellow paddlers to enjoy a session on the water, we encourage you to come down and meet at the flag in the front of the club.

A great opportunity to meet fellow paddlers at the club. No need to book just turn up and enjoy a paddle together.

Parkrun - Garvey Park

Parkrun has started up a group at Garvey Park. The group is a free, timed 5 km run, jog or walk around Garvey Park. It starts at 8:00am each Saturday, with briefing occurring just before 8am (if it is your first time aim to be there at least 10min before start to understand course).

Anyone is welcome to join in the running group, with walkers most welcome to join in too! If you want to join please register before you first come along. Just remember to bring a printed copy of your barcode to each event to receive a time.

For more information go to their website https://www.parkrun.com.au/garveypark/

Or go to their Facebook page Garvey Parkrun.

This month Belmont City Council has kindly donated coffees from the kiosk for Parkrun volunteers to help promote Garvey Park Parkrun.
