SOLE-ful Summer is in FULL swing!

From The Desk of Our Executive Director

Dear friends, family, fans, and supporters of SOLE,

As many of you know, our mission is to empower individuals to become active learners and responsible stewards of their community and its environment. When we founded SOLE, we did so with the purpose to give back to our immediate communities and beyond through the vehicle of intentional experiential and outdoor education.  I believe that these fields provide the modality to make difference now and for future generations to come. Obviously, ambitious goals like this come with a tremendous amount of responsibility and opportunity.  Equally as important, is the amount of support it takes to make our vision actualize into true action, and for that we are thankful.

As SOLE continues to expand, so does our opportunity to immerse individuals in a natural learning environment - which is how we mainly aim to achieve our mission.  Many of our participants have never experienced a novel educational opportunity like SOLE offers, or at least not consistently.  Each time I am out "in the field" and experience the smiles, the gratitude, and power of what Mother Nature's classroom provides, I am overwhelmed with a deep sense of appreciation and satisfaction.  Still the work continues, and I look forward to it everyday.  If we can connect more of our youth to these special places to explore, achieve, and lead I am confident that our world will be a better place, because our future leaders will have developed a sense of belonging and appreciation with themselves, their peers, and their environment.

As many of you know, SOLE just celebrated our 2nd year of year-round programming, and reached over 700 participants, of which more than 500 are youth! We are very thankful to those that have assisted us along the way through participating in our programming, volunteering their time, donating goods or money, or simply being there to share our journey. We are excited about the future and are continuing to strive to provide a service for our local communities and beyond, centered on intentional experiential and outdoor education programming, so as we do so please let us know how we can best serve you!

On behalf of the SOLE family we sincerely thank you for your continued support!

All my best,
Dennison Webb, M.A.
