Inspiration Lunch

The Finnish Institute in Estonia, Creative Estonia, Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia and Tartu Centre of Creative Industries organize a Lunch and Discussion Series at Kino Artis in Tallinn during spring 2014.

The purpose of the series is to share best practices in creative economy development, comparing views and experiences as well as getting to know different ways of practice.

Iiro Lahdenranta, founder of Result Entertainment Group. (April 7)

The company provides both branded entertainment services and solutions to artists, brands, companies and agencies, as well as artist management services to the most shining stars of today’s business. Result Entertainment brings the needed professional touch and fresh ideas to strategic brand management, combined with future stars of the game. In the event Iiro will tell how to leverage artist’s existing business by endorsements, licensing deals and brand cooperations.
Kadri Mäesalu, Marketing and export manager, Joik Candles and Spa (April 7). Export Lessons from Joik: how does a small business without a big budget enter the foreign market. Natural cosmetics brand Joik offers a full range of facial care and home-spa products, soaps and scented candles. All products are handmade in Estonia in small batches using only the finest ingredients.

Heikki Laaninen, co-Founder at 5th Wave Brands (April 7)

5th Wave Brands is a Finland based licensing and brand development agency founded by ex-Rovio Entertainment employees. The company’s main focus is on creating and executing global licensing and brand development programs for the next generation of mobile games and entertainment brands. Mobile entertainment is booming in the Nordic countries and currently many of the most popular chart-topping mobile games are coming from the region.  We believe that mobile entertainment revolution is just at the beginning and will change how entertainment content is consumed. 
Helen Sildna, Tallinn Music Week / Musiccase (May 12)
Helen has been a music promoter and events’ producer, based in Estonia for 13 years. In 2009 she set up Tallinn Music Week, a music industry conference and one of the biggest showcase festivals in the Baltic-Nordic region today. Helen is also a board member of Estonian Music Development Centre, Estonian Culture Council, currently also a member of the Estonian President’s Advisory Board.
Tanel Veenre, artist and designer (April 28)
Tanel Veenre has worked as design and culture ambassador both in independent media (as editor and founder of cultural magazine Muusa 2007-2008) and biggest newspapers. Currently he is professoring in desing faculty in Estonian Academy of Arts and working as a jewellery artist and designer.
Marit Hohtokari, consultant, Sillanrakentajat (May 12)
Sillanrakentajat (bridge builders, was a three year programme funded by the European Social Fund (ESF): the profession of agents and managers in creative fields was created, a line of new professionals trained and new working practices developed. 
In her presentation Marit will explain why the training program was created, who were the participants and how is the field looking now. Biggest successes and disappointments.
Jenni Moberg, founder of 0,7 design (May 12)
0.7 design is a design agency that supports Finnish small and micro-sized companies to find business opportunities abroad, mainly in Japan and Russia. During the seven years of operation, there has been over 100 brands that have reached new markets with 0.7 design’s support. Jenni would love to see further development of agencies in creative businesses – that’s why she wrote a book about her experiences with 0.7 design for others to learn. In the event Jenni will speak about how to run an agency, why agencies are needed and how they can create new business opportunities for creative companies.
Piia Keto & Marjo Kuusinen, KAKSITVÅ (April 28)
Designer duo Marjo Kuusinen & Piia Keto run together KAKSITVÅ. It includes an accessory brand and a design office.The spirit of KAKSITVÅ comes from the nature of the designers, humor and love of adventures. Inspiration for the design comes from everything that happens around them.
