UPCOMING WORKSHOPS AND CLINICS
The Grande Prairie Sport Council will be teaming up with the Alberta Sport Development Centre, Sport Medicine Council of Alberta, Be Fit For Life Centre, the GP Volunteer Services Bureau and others to bring the sport community opportunities for professional development.
VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT FOR EVENTS (MARCH 25, 2015)
This three hour workshop will provide an overview of what is involved with organizing volunteer staffing requirements for events of any type. Handouts will include examples of timelines, checklists, scheduling sheets, and other forms.
This concussion management workshop will share the current research and protocols on preventing, identifying and managing concussions. This is a necessary workshop for any coach, parent, and athlete or recreation worker.

In response to the Alberta Sport Plan’s call for more alignment and collaboration with sport partners, Alberta Sport Connection will be hosting a series of provincial meetings for those in a leadership role in coach development.
The purpose of the meetings will be to increase coordination in an attempt to maximize efficiency and reduce duplication, while establishing a consistent communication channel to better promote outcomes, programs, resources and the sharing of successful practices. The proposed agenda for the first meeting is attached for your reference.
The first meeting will be held online and is scheduled for February 18th.

Does your not-for-profit organization need money?
The 15th Annual EMS Wine Fair is looking for volunteers and are willing to pay groups to come in and help out.
How much will we get paid?: $500
How many volunteers do you need from us?: 10-12 (or 5-6 for half the honorarium)
What date and time? February 6th, 6pm - 11pm
What will we be doing? Helping wine agents with random tasks such as fetching water and grabbing glasses.
Is there a dress code?: Black pants and white shirt with comfy shoes
Is it going to be easy and fun? Heck yes!
Volunteers must be 18+
