Route options announced for 'Central Section'

Our colleagues at the East West Railway Company - which was established by the Department for Transport to accelerate the scheme's delivery - have today revealed five route options for the new rail line between Bedford and Cambridge.

More information is available on their website:

The consultation runs for six weeks from Monday 28 January to Monday 11 March.

Councillor Mark Shaw, Chairman of the East West Rail Consortium, said:  “This announcement shows the real progress being made in getting trains operating between Oxford and Cambridge at the earliest opportunity. It’s crucial that people now give their views on the proposals so that the best possible route can be taken forward.”
