To celebrate the recent beautiful renovation of the Wadsworth Atheneum, CONCORA will present a program at the museum on February 12 at 4:00 PM – a concert whose repertoire is inspired by the artwork itself.

“CONCORA is thrilled to bring its music to the beautiful galleries at the Wadsworth Museum,” says Chris Shepard, CONCORA's Artistic Director. “The richness and variety of the Museum’s collections offers ample inspiration for a concert that is equally rich and varied, with an array of music from the Renaissance to the present day, including music composed especially for this program by Ellen Gilson Voth, a highly-regarded composer who happens also to be a member of CONCORA.”

Over the next few weeks, we'll offer more information about this exciting program, including an interview with composer Ellen Gilson Voth, in which she shares her insights about the painting by Thomas Cole (shown below) that inspired her new work, the stories of the remarkable texts she discovered, and how art, text, and music interplay in her new choral work Of Distant Skies.

Please join us for what promises to be a remarkable, memorable event.

Seating at the Wadsworth Atheneum is limited; though a number of tickets will be available at the door, we encourage you to reserve your seats now.
