So far, 2015 has been a very interesting and busy year in Studio 409. It's now just over 13 months since I committed to feltmaking full-time...and so much has happened.
One of the most pleasing things about the year has been the success of my feltmaking workshops. I have met and tutored a wide range of budding and experienced feltmakers from many different places...Scotland, England, Greece, Japan, Germany and next month, I will be running a special course for two Canadians who are visiting Scotland for the trip of a lifetime.
Not only do I love teaching, but the workshops give me an opportunity to develop and hone my skills so that I can pass on the results of my experiments.
Here are just a few of the women who have come along to workshops this year.
Although workshops are almost over for 2015, there are still a couple of spaces available on the Perfect Purses Workshop on November 14. If you are interested in joining in, please contact me to arrange booking.
Workshops for the beginning of 2016 are already up on the website. I have chosen the most popular from this year for the first 4, and am developing new techniques and projects as the year progresses, including a couple of 2-day workshops for more complex undertakings.
A great gift (for a friend or yourself) is a Workshop Gift Voucher. Vouchers cost £60 and can be bought for a specific workshop or, alternatively, used for any workshop within 6 months of purchase, depending on availability. If you are interested in purchasing a voucher, please contact me for more details.
Thinking ahead to Christmas, I have new Art Cuffs on my Etsy Shop, which might fit the bill for an unusual and affordable present for your stylish friends. Also available are snug and warm cowls, and a variety of flower and pod brooches.
New Art Cuffs...a sumptuous blend of silks and merino wool.
Last but not least....a date for your diaries. I will be taking part in the Christmas Makers' Fair at St Margaret's House on the weekend of 12th & 13th December. There will be plenty of my signature pieces on sale, including scarves, cowls, art cuffs, brooches, vessels and felt Christmas Cards.
I will send you more details nearer the time, but make a note of it before you forget. It will be a fun weekend to get you into the Christmas spirit!
That's it for now. Thank you for your interest in my work and please don't hesitate to get in touch...even just to say Hello!
