Happy New Year! I hope that 2017 has started well for you and just continues to get better and better. After a tough year in 2016, I am really looking forward to some new adventures in the coming 12 months.
So far, the next few months are looking something like this....

Workshops 2017 - here is Eri making a nuno-felt scarf in a 1:1 session

From February to May of this year, I am offering some of my most popular workshops in Studio 3.03 at St Margaret's House. The full programme is on my website...just check the drop down menu under Workshops.
If Edinburgh isn't the easiest place for you to get to, how about a wee trip to the Borders? I will be following up the success of my workshops at The White Fox Gallery in Coldstream at the end of March. Once the programme is confirmed, I will tell you more.
Alternatively, I am also teaching a nuno-felt scarf workshop in Arran at the Arran Visual Arts group on September 16th.
And of course, there are always my bespoke 1:1 or small group workshops, designed around you!
A trip with a difference....I am joining a small group of intrepid women on a Textile Adventure to Nepal in the first couple of weeks of April. Felting, embroidery and textile printing are some of the activities I'll be experiencing in this fascinating country.
Following the success of last September's collaborative exhibition, Inspired, I will be joining forces again with Sarah Brooker and Rosie Doyle for Inspired II. This time, we will be participating in the Stroud International Textile Festival in May.
Last but not least, the first ever Latvian Alpaca Adventure is now all set for 5 - 11 June, 2017. How it all came about and what it involves can be found on my blog and the website for Griezites Alpakas, which is the name of the Alpaca Farm owned by Jo and Ian Storie. It has been a tremendous experience learning about a country I had never visited before, felting with the luxurious alpaca and making new friends along the way.
We have already started taking bookings and places are limited. So, if you are interested in taking part in the first Latvian Alpaca Adventure, get in touch with me or Jo.
Well, I think that's enough for now, don't you?
If you have any questions, suggestions for workshops, ideas for exhibitions, collaborations or commissions, or just fancy a chat....don't hesitate to contact me. It's going to be a busy year, especially as I have been asked to join the International Feltmakers Association committee as their new communications officer....and that's just the way I like it.
Thank you for reading this, my first newsletter for a while.

Take care.
All the best
