A word from our chair … Kath

Happy New Year!

Phew! now the chaos of Christmas and new year is behind us, we can focus on a very exciting couple of months. We have the County long distance and age group relays happening over the next 2 weekends. Congratulations to all the swimmers involved, its a real honour to swim for the club or to be eligible to swim with the fastest swimmers in the county, so WELL DONE!

All those swimmers who represent the club at the County Championships will be presented with a Silver Counties 2015 swimming hat by Kim Weetman, our head coach.

We are still waiting for confirmation from the organisers regarding the individual swims at the County Championships in February, I will update you all as soon as we hear.

A polite reminder, all swimmers must have POOLSIDE SHOES (Ideally flip flops or crocs) and a POOLSIDE SHIRT (Rachel Pearson still has some in stock if you wish to buy a new one) at the counties. All those swimmer without shoes and a shirt
will be refused entry into the waiting area. Please ensure that you have everything you need, spare goggles, towel, spare hat etc.

At the Christmas Party, the medals from the Club Championships were awarded to all swimmers who participated, if you missed the party, dont worry we have all the uncollected medals, they will catch up with you over the coming weeks. The Male and Female swimmers who won the most points at the club championships were this year awarded to Tag Curwen and Rebecca Hoadley. This year Kim also nominated 2 swimmers to act as club captains, so congratulations to Megan Stockford and Aaron Lamb.

Scarlett Wilson
We hope you enjoy your swimming, make good progress and make lots of new friends!

Swimmer of the Month

Charlotte Oliver is Kim's swimmer of the month

Charlotte has only been with us since June, very early on she was noticed by all the coaches and quickly increased sessions and moved squads.

She works hard and always smiles even after a tough extended session!

4SSC Club Champions 2014

After fun on the inflatables at the Christmas party medals were presented to the winners of the 4SSC Club Championships held in October. There were many smiling faces as the winners of each age group recieved their awards but the biggest smiles were from the over all Club Champions Tag Curwen and Rebecca Hoadley. Congratulations to them and to everyone who took part !

Thank you to Bill and Barbara

A Note from Bill & Barbara.

We would like to say a very big THANK YOU for the M & S vouchers you presented to us at the Christmas party.
Over the years of being with the club, we have enjoyed coaching numerous children and seeing them  progress; some moving to bigger clubs, others reaching county and regional standard. The club has certainly gone from strength to strength and grown in size.
Swimmers, set your goals, train hard, listen to your coaches and you will achieve them.
We wish you all and the club every success in the future.
Bill & Barbara.

New Club Captains 2015

At the Christmas Party Kim announced that that the Club is introducing a new role for two
dedicated and responsible swimmers - Club Captain.

The Club Captain's role is to be the link between the swimmers and the club organisers. Ideally they will attend as many meets as possible to assist the Team Managers and Coaches, and to encourage the junior swimmers. They must be a positive role model for all swimmers and communicate any problems to Coaches and Team Managers.

This year the 4SSC Club Captains will be
Aaron Lamb and Megan Stockford.
