Well with 2 days of Counties done we have had some brilliant swims.
We had 10 individual swims producing 4 PBs and 10 Relays all finishing faster than their entry times all with some really great splits. More to follow after the February Counties weekends.
We are now in The Chilterns League.
DATES to put in your diaries are:-
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 25
SATURDAY MARCH 18
SATURDAY APRIL 22
These are evening Galas and we will be travelling by coach as a team, taking 40+ swimmers, 3 officials, TMs and Coaches.
So please keep an eye out for the emails with Team selection.
Trainers of the Month are still being selected, so keep up the good work.

A word from our Chair …Rachel
Welcome to a busy and exciting 2017 for 4SSC! January begins with the ONB County Championship's long distance races and younger age group relays, followed by the rest of the individual events and older age group relays next month. I'd like to extend sincere congratulations to all our swimmers who have qualified to compete as well as those who have been selected to swim in the relay teams and to wish you all the very best of luck! Our thoughts are also with Eloise who is still unwell, and Aaron who is recovering from his accident and are both therefore unable to compete - you are both missed; get well & come back soon.
We are delighted that we have been invited to join the Chilterns league this year. Kim will shortly be selecting the teams and contacting swimmers but please note the following fixture dates: 25 Feb, 18 March and 22 April. The plan is to travel by coach to and from the venue as a team. The first fixture will be held at Bletchley with the venues for the other two dates to be advised in due course.
Another exciting development for 4SSC is the introduction of our own Summer Camp to be held in August. Details have been circulated earlier this month and we look forward to holding an information evening with the opportunity to find out more and answer any questions you may have. This is going to be an excellent opportunity for our swimmers to benefit from some intensive coaching and to enjoy the social experience of a residential camp. Please note that spaces will be reserved upon receipt of a £50 deposit on a first come, first served basis.
None of this would be possible without the support and hard work of our dedicated Coaching team, Committee, growing band of Officials, 'Friends of 4SSC' and our supportive parents, as well of course, as the swimmers themselves! Thank you all and here's to another successful year!
Best Wishes & Happy New Year!
After the Christmas break we're now fully into the crazy season with the Oxford & North Buckinghamshire County Championships in full swing. The individual events start at the beginning of February for two consecutive weekends. Very well done to the following swimmers who have had accepted entries: Emma Andrews, Holly Anthony, Louis Bushby, Abby Chapman, Matthew Edmonds, Leah Hawtin, Rebecca Hoadley, Ellie Lawrence, Oriana MacGregor, Eva Moody, Freya Moody, Adam Nash, Charlotte Oliver, Zoe Pearson, Megan Stockford and Laura Tolley, the best of luck to all of you.
At the Christmas Party we awarded the Age Group Championship medals and trophies for 2016.
Unfortunately a number of swimmers weren't able to attend and collect their medals (and a round of applause), Kim now has these, so be sure to see him to collect any remaining medals.
We have a full calendar of meets running through the spring now, with the continued Oxford Development meets for our younger and less experienced swimmers, and we'll also be attending more level 1 & 2 meets to prepare the top swimmers for the South East Regional Championships in late April / May. Watch out for the emails and please respond quickly, and pay quickly too please. I have reconciled payments in the second half of last year and I'm afraid a lot are still outstanding, emails to follow.
Sadly we'll not be attending the popular Tiger Bay meet this year as we have a clash with one of the Chiltern League fixtures. You can always check the meet calendar on our website.
All the best, Chris
A warm welcome to our new swimmers:
Scarlett & Oscar Ward
We hope you enjoy your swimming and make new friends.
Please note that ASA fees are due by the end of the month, along with signed Codes of Conducts and updated membership details.

If you are interested in finding out more about this role, please contact Andrew who will be very happy to answer any questions, and to ensure a full and comprehensive handover during the coming months. Andrew can be contacted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
4SSC upcoming trial session

Message from Sainsburys...
Good news for Four Shires Swimming Club
In 2016 organisations like yours helped us raise £11 million worth of cooking and sports equipment, and experiences for UK clubs and schools.
Active Kids 2017 launches on 25 January and with your help, we hope to make it even bigger and better than before.
We’ve listened to your feedback and have brought back pre-printed 1 and 5 vouchers at the till. So this year there are three ways to collect; in Sainsbury’s Supermarkets and online at sainsburys.co.uk you’ll be given one voucher for every £10 you spend, and in Sainsbury’s Local stores you’ll get one voucher for every £5 you spend.
Whether you’ve taken part once, or have been involved with Active Kids from the start, you’ll know how important it is to collect as many vouchers as possible. So let’s get in the mix in 2017 and help kids to eat well, move well and live well.
The Active Kids team
A pleasing sight...
