Addendum to Local 20/20 Weekly Announcements August 31, 2020
Editors note: Local 20/20 makes every effort to respect your inbox and limit our emails to only one per week, delivered with love each Monday morning. On occasion we have a correction that we think is important to send out. We thought the location change below warranted an exception to the rule. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Climate on Tap – Mon, September 7th*New* *Online* This month’s topic isEN-ROADS – an interactive climate policy simulation model! En-ROADS is a web-based climate policy simulation model. Developed by Climate Interactive and the MIT Sloan School of Management, En-ROADS provides policymakers, businesses, and the public with the ability to explore for themselves the likely consequences of energy, economic growth, land use and other policies. Participants will work together to find a set of policies that will limit global warming to the goals established by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Our guest presenter is Ted Larson Freeman. He is an En-ROADS Climate Ambassador and a group leader of the Bainbridge Island chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby.
Each session is held on the first Monday of the month. Co-sponsored by Local 20/20 Climate Action and Jefferson County Public Health, this is not a lecture series, but a book club & discussion format. Each session includes information to get the conversation started, followed by group discussions that include what locals think and what locals plan to do.
