We open the call to look for concrete examples in which R&I projects' results have been further developed and have been deployed as commercial solutions, have generated a new market or have contributed to new policies or regulations. The first focuses on coordination and collaboration cases. Deadline is 30 June 2021. We want to promote implementations cases in order to inspire others to follow successful examples, and to understand enabling factors to lead such success. The call is part of activities of the BOOSTLOG project, a 3 year HORIZON 2020 project starting from 2021.

ALICE Webinar on Blockchain Application for Logistics

The webinar was held on 25th March with top experts in blockchain as speakers. ALICE recognises the importance of blockchain in developing technology supporting logistics digitalisation and the creation of digital and data sharing ecosystems. Participatants of this webinar were exposed to concrete market initiatives and the key characteristics defining blockchain as the key enabling technology for them. Speakers discussed to what extent blockchain fits the needs of the different use cases addressed, the main considerations to have before implementing this technology and the way forward.

ALICE Liaison Program Welcomes New Projects

ALICE Liaison Program connects ongoing R&I projects in the logistics sector. The program helps ALICE members to be well-informed about the latest developments in innovation in logistics and also enables projects to connect with logistics stakeholders to facilitate dissemination and exploitation of project outcomes. Four new projects joint the Liaison Program recently:
  • 5G LOGINNOV, a 3 year Horizon 2020 project, aiming to using 5G technologies to innovate logistics and ports for a sustainable future;
  • AWARD, a Horizon 2020 project with a budget of 26 million €, is developing and operating safe autonomous transportation systems (ATS) in a wide range of real-life logistic use cases in a variety of different scenarios;
  • LIFE-FIT, a project co-funded by the EU’s LIFE Program, works on shifting freight volumes from road to rail through an integrated EU-wide logistics market and improving access of SMEs to the intermodal market;
  • STORM, a Horizon 2020 CSA project, will review and assessment of the current trends and technology drivers, thus identify prospects for deployment of future innovative operational scenarios and business models, and provide recommendations for logistics stakeholders.

ALICE - AEROFLEX Joint Webinar

The AEROLFEX project, one of the ALICE Liaison Program projects, is to develop and demonstrate new technologies, concepts and architectures for complete vehicles that are energy efficient, safe, comfortable, configurable and cost-effective, while ensuring that the varying needs of customers are satisfied by being flexible and adaptable with respect to the continuously changing operational conditions. ALICE has supported the project on various activities. On 24th March ALICE and AEROFLEX organised a webinar to present latest outcomes of the project and facilitate discussions on implementations of the project outcomes.
