Electric Vehicles (EVs) are becoming increasingly prominent in the logistics sector as a result of the rising demand for greener transportation. Yet, the adoption of EVs presents particular difficulties for all parties involved, such as the requirement for reliable charging infrastructure. This report investigates the role of data in addressing challenges faced by electric urban logistics, such as evaluating charging point numbers and locations.
The URBANIZED project is working to provide the logistics market with the next generation of electric vehicles for efficient and effective last-mile operations. URBANIZED is a fresh ALICE liaison programme project newcomer!

Today don’t miss the ‘Call for Action’ launch event at 11:00!
Although dissemination and exploitation have always been an important part of R&I projects, it has been noted that not all project outcomes have been exploited and, eventually, expected societal impacts may not be delivered. To address this issue, we call on all project beneficiaries, associations with interests in Horizon Europe, and European Commission to take actions to support uptakes of R&I project outcomes to realise full potential of innovation in the transport sector.
The event is open to anyone - find below the agenda and link to join the event
This event is organised by the Task Force on Accelerating Innovation Uptake for Sustainable Transport consisting of 9 CSA projects funded by Horizon 2020.

In the past few decades, the logistics sector has experienced revolutionary shifts in technologies, business models, policies and legislation facilitated by funded R&I projects. To acknowledge the achievements and inspire the logistics sector R&I community, ALICE launched the Innovation Award in April 2021. This 4th edition will be focused on successful implementation cases stemming from R&I projects in logistics networks. The previous three awards addressed Logistics Coordination & Collaboration, Urban Logistics, and Logistics Nodes. Discover more about BOOSTLOG.

The European Commission has set up the Digital Transport and Logistics Forum (DTLF) consisting of more than 100 experts in the field, to tackle inefficiencies in freight transport and logistics that result in delays and uncertainties thus generating higher administrative costs as well as unnecessary emissions.
The main objective of the webinar is to create a common understanding of how to incorporate eFTI in daily business and what the companies should outline and do next.
This webinar is open to ALICE and non-ALICE members.

The ALICE Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) group was born with the intent to strengthen and create links across projects by supporting cross-fertilization and sharing innovative initiatives as well as technologies in the IWT sector that are in line with ALICE roadmaps. IWT's advantages such as low-energy and CO2 emissions are not fully exploited today due to gaps in the logistics system.
This webinar is of relevance to ALICE members interested in Inland Waterways including Shippers and cargo owners, logistics service providers, freight forwarders and transportation companies, intermodal operators, ports, service providers and researchers.

Efficient and low emissions assets and energy are pivotal in delivering a decarbonized freight transport and logistics sector. OEMs, suppliers, road freight operators and freight transport services buyers play a central role in the uptake of zero-emissions vehicles.
In this webinar, some key actors in the hydrogen business discussed the state of play and the interconnection with freight and logistics and provided quite an interesting analysis of the market, the state of play of this 'new' potential business, hydrogen-propelled fleet & modern trucks, and last but not least the role in this of Horizon EU programmes through which the European Union supports research and development activities.

On the 8th of March we supported the International Women’s Day #iwd2023 💐 with a 'virtual breakfast'.
Almost all flagship urban logistics projects funded by horizon europe are led by women, and that shall not passed unnoticed. Women work hard with great ambitions and leadership to make the world more sustainable for future generations! Noticing this trend, ALICE & POLIS organised a virtual breakfast to celebrate the wonderful achievements of those women in sustainable cities and beyond.

Last 1st March, different stakeholders, partners, ALICE members and even the EU Commission, were present to our workshop in Brussels. The intent has been to trying define current and future trends, technologies and concepts that will serve shaping our ALICE recommendations for R&I as part of BOOSTLOG project. Sergio Barbarino - Procter & Gamble, Paola Chiarini - European Commission, and Carolina Cipres - Zaragoza Logistics Center, opened the day with three excellent contributions!
The BOOSTLOG project, a 3-year project funded by the EU through HORIZON 2020, is supporting European Commissions to identifying R&I priorities that will be used to provide inputs for various programmes including the ongoing Horizon Europe. The BOOSTLOG consortium has delivered the first version of recommendations on future programmes last year. We would like to invite you to join the workshop to work together to form recommendations for next programmes and calls.

Port and terminal operations generate multiple events and data. Communicating data and their context has become crucial to understand where and how added value can be created in order to improve terminals processes, but also how such processes can be connected to the outside world (networks, carriers, shippers etc.)
Last February 21st we held a webinar to better understand and dig a little deeper on the new communication standards set by the Terminal Industry Committee (TIC4.0).
