IHE-Europe NEWS Pulse
Dear Members and Friends,

With less than 1 week to the opening of the Luxembourg-hosted 2015
IHE-Europe Connectathon registration it is interesting to see numbers of participating vendors growing dramatically in the IT Infrastructure (ITI) Domain.

New and Expanding Profiles are one key reason. However it is also the importance that ITI has in relation to all Domains in part due to the fact that Cross-Enterprise (Document/Image/Information) Sharing underpins the very essence of any Electronic Patient Record. ITI is very much the glue that links the other key Domains  together, hence ITI Profiles appear to be even more dynamic in relation to security and privacy, assurance methods, provider and patient identity and workflow management. Radiology, Cardiology, Laboratory and the other IHE domains are heavily linking to ITI.
IHE-Europe Connectathon 2014 results show companies large and small offering solutions, some with products tested across almost every ITI Profile.
Naturally the Cross-Enterprise Profiles that IHE IT Infrastructure provides are the basis of numerous regional healthcare exchange solutions with repositories, registries and patient portals throughout the world.

In Luxembourg, a country with huge numbers of cross-border commuters, it is not surprising that the Luxembourg national eHealth platform – including a.o. the electronic health record (DSP) - relies heavily on compliance with IHE Profiles especially the ITI Domain; making it the ideal choice for Connectathon 2015.
