IHE-Europe NEWS Pulse

It is now barely one month until registration is open for the IHE-Europe Connectathon in Bochum, 11-15 April 2016. It promises to be a spectacular week with a number of regional and international parallel meetings, including a European Symposium looking at policies and deployment initiatives for eHealth interoperability.

The European Commission has sent a strong message to all Member States with the recent announcement that 27 IHE Profiles are eligible for referencing in public procurements as technical specifications – across the EU. 

This comes with the culmination of 15 years of IHE developing detailed specifications in the field of healthcare IT and the knowledge that at Connectathon 2016 regular participants and new vendors will be present with new software to test against appropriate IHE Profiles and prove interoperability of their solutions and systems with peer companies.
The 2016 White Paper on the Connectathon has considerable information that is important for regular participants, new vendors and those considering attending.
2016 Highlights of the IHE IT Infrastructure include:
  • Add RESTful Query to ATNA – updates Audit Trail and Node Authentication.
  • Care Service Discovery – supports queries across related directories.
  • Cross-Community Document Reliable Interchange.
  • Patient Administration Management – establishes continuity and integrity of patient data.
  • Internet User Authorisation for RESTful Interface.
  • Mobile Access to Health Documents – a RESTful interface to Document sharing and XDS.
  • Cross Enterprise Workflow – coordinates human and applications mediated workflows across multiple organisations.
  • Healthcare Provider Directory – supports discovery and management of healthcare provider information – organisational and individual, in a directory structure.
