Dear Members and Friends, Day 2 of the IHE-Europe Connectathon dawned with the exciting news that delegates to the Connectathon and the suite of parallel events hosted by IHE-Europe, IHE Italy and Arsenàl.IT had reached 1,000 - a long way from the relatively humble beginnings just 17 years ago in Paris. Venice has, as expected, pulled out all the stops and the parallel sessions around a variety of health IT themes have proved to be extremely popular.
Over 100 delegates arriving for the IHE-Europe Symposium – Interoperability in eHealth Marches Ahead – were treated to an outstanding session on eHealth Strategy and Deployment in eHealth Services. Continuing with a vibrant session on approaches to interoperability rigor through Conformity Assessment - with examples of good practice from Switzerland and the local Veneto region. The second of two panel discussions featuring users and vendors completed a busy morning. The afternoon featured VIP tours of the Connectathon floor. The mHealth Plugathon – an opportunity for the Mobile Health Apps community to innovate in connecting to the APIs of health IT product solutions – featured a strong and well-attended educational programme followed by an equally important two-day testing session.
