It is early morning at the IHE-Europe Connectathon in Bochum, and the first vendor delegates are arriving at RuhrCongress for the start of the 2016 European Connectathon. One can hardly believe that this industrial German town is already bathed in sunlight - reminiscent of summer yet it is only April.
Over 70 companies are assembling and working hard as the Connectathon gets underway. Already Eric Poiseau, IHE-Europe Technical Manager in charge of the Connectathon, is buzzing as there is for the first time a live streaming of events taking place within the hall and the all-important Monitors are beginning their crucial duties – things are “hotting up”.
Meanwhile locked in the IHE General Assembly representatives approved membership of IHE-Finland to IHE-Europe. Following this the IHE-Europe Steering Committee chose Jürgen Brandstätter as Vendor Co-Chair with a two-year mandate to succeed Lapo Bertini, who is moving to Deputy Co-Chair. IHE Austria, amongst others, tweeted their congratulations to them @IHE_Europe – be sure to take this feed during the four day Connectathon – lots will be happening. The IHE-Europe Steering Committee is also discussing and agreeing strategy and policy for the next years – we wish them well.
