For thousands of years, Winter Solstice has been celebrated in cultures around the world. This start of the solar year is a celebration of Light and the rebirth of the Sun. Many modern traditions are derived from this astronomical event.
We invite you to join us for this beautiful celebration, which symbolizes finding the light in the darkness together. Join in on this fun-filled evening of light as we come together to celebrate a tradition that has been revered for thousands of years. Share a meditative lantern walk through the darkness, candles, warm drinks, music, and ceremony. There will also be a kids nature craft area!
Bring a blanket and a lighted lantern if you have them!
This celebration is also the official kick-off for our annual fundraiser to benefit the Children's Emergency Shelter and Concho Valley Home for Girls. An opportunity to purchase a card for the Unity Outreach Tree will be available during the event.
This is a powerful time of year for personal and community renewal.

An opportunity to purchase a Christmas card for the Unity Outreach Tree will be available during the event.  Here is a downloadable, printable flyer: FLYER

REMEMBER THIS MOMENT?  It's LAST YEAR'S Unity Outreach Tree!

CALLING THE CALLED:

Unity Spiritual Center is committed to reaching out in prayer, comfort and support to our congregation because doing so supports our mission and vision. As our ministry continues to grow, our Prayer Chaplains are invaluable in helping to meet the pastoral care needs of our congregation. We invite you to prayerfully consider stepping into this powerful area of service for our ministry.

Completing Prayer Chaplain training and serving as a Prayer Chaplain is transformative soul work. It is a unique service that differs from many of our other volunteer opportunities in terms of the level of commitment and responsibilities required.

Many of our Prayer Chaplains report that they stepped in to serve others, but found that being a Prayer Chaplain blessed and benefitted themselves most of all. It is a role that will help you discover your greatness and the greatness of others. It may very well be one of the most rewarding spiritual growth experiences you have on your journey.

Our Prayer Chaplain Program empowers congregants to pray with one another. Prayer chaplains are members of our church who:

  • create and hold sacred space;
  • listen from the heart;
  • hold what is heard in the strictest confidence;
  • pray out loud with congregants;
  • maintain a daily prayer practice that includes holding sacred space for the individuals on their call list.
Prayer Chaplains are not trained to “minister” to the community at large, but are fully prepared as a lay resource to help meet the pastoral care needs within our own Unity community.  Please begin consideration and praying about becoming one of our active Unity Prayer Chaplains.  If you are interested or want more information, please contact Mary and/or Jim Tufts at tuftscorner@suddenlink.net or 325-315-0486/325-812-7227.  Training class will be held at the end of March, 2020.

Monday Night Consciousness Awakening Continues on December 23rd!   To learn more about the current,  fascinating book (and the group) please click HERE.

Due to nice days--the grass is STILL growing!
  We need someone to mow or weed-eat around the church physical plant and/or in  the "Oneness Park"  and tidy up the branches (or twigs) that have fallen.  If you want to sweep around the labyrinth, that is also welcome. Please let Barbara know if you would like to perform this vital service to our church by calling 325-651-6830. Even a little bit would help. Thank you!
.

Bookstore: The bookstore will now have previously loved jewelry and books for sale. If you feel led to donate books or jewelry for the bookstore to sale, please contact Barbara for details.  The bookstore also has new items from a new supplier. Bowls, candle holders, matchstick incense, and pendants are a few new items. Come visit!
