With FLOW-3D's cavitation model, users can simulate damaging cavitation within water and environmental structures, potential cavitation damage to propellers, pumps, valves, and pipelines, cavitation during high pressure die casting that can cause die damage and casting porosity, formation of thermal bubbles within MEMS devices, boiling behavior for heat transfer surface, and mixing due to cavitation dynamics. Using Tabular Data for Faster Results

The biggest factor affecting the accuracy of the interpolation procedure is how quickly the dependent variable changes in comparison to the total range of the independent variable, so keep this in mind when using tabular temperature-dependent or strain rate-dependent input data. Most material properties vary gradually enough that this is not an issue, but the FLOW-3D v11.1 release will include additional diagnostics to identify potential inaccuracies in the property data representation before the simulation is run.

Adwaith Gupta
In April, Adwaith Gupta began his career at Flow Science as Technical Marketing Engineer. In his new role, Adwaith will work closely with the sales, marketing, support and development teams, creating technical content to support and promote the marketing and sales of Flow Science’s portfolio of products. He will graduate in June with a Master’s of Science in Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology from Stanford University. He reports to Amanda Ruggles, Director of Marketing. Welcome, Adwaith!
