Promoting Professional Growth for the Educators of Clay, Crawford, Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland counties.

Update from the Regional Superintendent

Professional Development for Everyone!
The ROE 12 PD Bulletin Board
It's like a back alley fence row with ads posted all over it.  Except, it's electronic and it showcases Professional Development for educators available statewide.  It's accessible from the button at the bottom middle of the box labeled, "Professional Development Available From Other Providers" on the PD Page of our website.
Did you know...that ROE 12 has a PD Advisory Committee that meets annually to help plan the activities of the year to come?  Did you know that you can be a part of that group?  Just email the Regional Superintendent!

Out of Print:
Moving From Textbooks to a Digital Age

Presented by Mindy Fiscus, Learning Technology Center VI
Wednesday, February 10, 2016, 9:00 am -3:30 pm
Flora Elementary School, Flora, Illinois

The ever-increasing cost of textbooks and the “outdated as soon as it arrives in your hands” nature of school publishing is causing schools to reconsider the textbook as a learning tool.  Blended learning means that dedicated, talented teachers access and apply high quality on-demand content to meet the educational needs of the students they serve.  This workshop will enable participants to evaluate and utilize digital content and make the best pedagogical decisions about how to deliver that content to students of all ability levels and learning styles.

Pre-K to Picasso

Presented by Renee Willis, Robinson CUSD #2
Friday, February 12, 2016, 1:00 pm -3:00 pm
Highland Church of Christ, Robinson, Illinois

Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves, instead of more like everyone else!  Come follow our lead through the discovery of Famous Artists and their works, as we share exploring, expressing, experimenting, and expanding children’s experiences in art!  If you believe that an imagination is more important than knowledge, you will fall easily into this process with your students.  If you do not believe that to be true, you will most likely change your mind as you join us in Pre-K to Picasso!
