This month I had layovers in Philadelphia, San Antonio, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Albuquerque, Buffalo, Birmingham, Columbus, Oakland, and San Diego. The highlight of the month was taking a gluten-free baking class at the San Francisco Cooking School with Chef Jeffrey Larsen. I also enjoyed a    weekend getaway with my family to 30A in Northwest Florida.

Gorman's Hat Shop is now open in Philadelphia. My favorite hat shop. Check out the online boutique if you can't visit one of the brick and mortar locations.
Lick Ice Cream in San Antonio is my favorite local ice cream parlor. I love the DF and GF flavors. I like the juices at Lucky Duck. Both hot spots are located at the Pearl Brewery. If you are visiting on a Saturday, don't miss the farmer's market.
I am a huge fan of Dave Asprey and bullet proof coffee. I love the newly opened flagship Bullet Proof Coffee Store in Santa Monica. The menu includes bone broth. I enjoy strolling the boutiques in nearby Abbott Kinney. If you have some time in L.A., take the Big Blue Bus to Venice Beach and enjoy the shopping and cafes.
I enjoy visiting the Bay Area. Don't miss Bi-Rite Creamery. The ice cream is delicious. (V and GF menu including GF cones.) If you do not have a lot of time, a visit to the Ferry Building Marketplace is always fun. I love the shops and the burgers at Gott's Roadside are very good.
I think the shopping is much better in nearby Oakland. Don't miss Temescal Alley.
I love the food in Albuquerque. My favorite spot for brunch is the Grove Cafe and Market.
I enjoyed a fabulous dinner in Buffalo at Toutant. Chef James Roberts is from Louisiana. My favorite coffee shop, Public Espresso is located in the Lafayette Hotel. For lunch, I enjoy the menu at Butterwood Sweet and Savory.
For late night dining in Birmingham, I recommend Paramount. I enjoyed a delicious lunch at Carrigan's.
I had a long layover in Columbus. I love to check out local farmer's markets. The Clintonville Farmer's Market is every Saturday, April 25 - November 21. I enjoyed visiting Clintonville. Pattycakes Vegan Bakery is very good. The cinnamon rolls are not gluten-free but very popular. The menu includes gluten-free cupcakes. I appreciate the fact the baked goods are not stored in a refrigerated case. I also found some vintage theme fabric at Sew to Speak. Clintonville is a short bus ride on #2 or #4 from downtown Columbus or use Uber.
I love the juices at Northside Shack in Point Luma. The prices are very reasonable, and the juices and smoothies are very good. The Sunset Cliffs are a great spot for photographs in Point Loma.

Be A Better List-Maker
1.  Remember that how you to feel is as important as what you want to accomplish.

2.  In everyday to-do lists, include tasks you enjoy, like reading a book or watching a TV program.

3.  Don't be afraid to share your list with others for their prospective, feedback, and encouragement.

4.  Be creative. Use colour, pictures, or a unique design to make your lists feel more interesting and appealing.

5.  Boost your happiness regularly by making a list of three things you are grateful for each day.

6.  At the end of each day choose one to three things you will work on tomorrow and let go of the rest.

 Santa Fe Travel Notes
Santa Fe is a great weekend getaway located near Albuquerque. The train makes traveling to Santa Fe super convenient for day trips. I had a long layover on a Saturday in Albuquerque  and hopped on board the  New Mexico Rail Runner for a scenic one hour ride from downtown Albuquerque to the Santa Fe depot station. My first stop was the Santa Fe Farmer's Market located near the train station. The market is every Saturday morning year round. Next stop was a delicious green smoothie at Modern General. The menu includes bone broth, salads, smoothies, juices and other healthy treats. After browsing the unique collection of home goods at Modern General, I walked to the Plaza and checked out the art galleries and boutiques. Next stop was Canyon Road. Canyon Road is one of the most beautiful roads in America. A great spot for taking photos and browsing the art galleries. On my way back, I visited the Cross of the Martyrs. I found a great travel store with a wide assortment of travel maps. Next stop was the historic La Fond Hotel on the Plaza. I recommend visiting at Sunset for the beautiful sunset views from the rooftop patio. Santa Fe is known for their beautiful sunsets. I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at the James Beard award winning organic restaurant, Cafe Pasquel's. To finish off my evening, I watched an Indie film at The Screen Cinematheque. I also recommend taking a cooking class at Santa Fe School of Cooking. If you enjoy hiking, Atalaya Trail is a great day hike with rewarding views. I can't wait to visit Santa Fe again.
