This week we bid farewell to the dog days of summer. Some of us are ready for a change of season, but consider every day to be ‘Dog Day’ because we are dog lovers. Fortunately for us, the ‘National Day’ calendar has marked this Monday, August 26, as National Dog Day.
Charles Schulz once said, “all his life he tried to be a good person. Many times, however, he failed. For after all, he was only human. He wasn’t a dog.”
I have a seven-pound dog named Russell (Russell Griswold Zamek), who rescued our family about five years ago. His DNA test indicates that he’s a mix of Chihuahua + a few terrier breeds. But to us, he’s just Russell. Every day Russell sits behind me and supervises while I work. He follows me around the house, even when I don’t have food in my hand. He loves everyone and looks for any opportunity to snuggle. But if you enter my office while I’m working, watch out. He transforms into a ferocious beast.
Russell has a cat named Molly (Molly Ringwald Zamek). They are besties. The go for a walk around the neighborhood together every evening and they lick each other on the head every night until they both fall asleep. (It’s as gross as it sounds, but super sweet.)
The best part about Russell is the joy he brings to my children. He has a unique connection with each of them, and somehow he knows to give them equal time and attention.
On Monday we will celebrate Russell but it probably won’t be much different from any other day, because in our house every day is Dog Day!

New to the area and trying to identify companies that drive kids home after school from Palmetto High school to The Falls area. Carpool options are great too.

THE BEST MEDICINE IS MARKETING
As you know from the past several newsletters, I recently teamed up with my friend Meredith Kallaher to create a new company called Meredith & Boo. We work with busy doctors who want to grow their practices and want to market themselves, but don’t have a targeted strategy in place.
For any medical practice looking to grow, marketing is the best medicine! But like any RX it only works if you do it right. We have developed a highly targeted strategy to teach doctors and their support teams how to develop and implement a step-by-step plan, then manage it in-house, without having to outsource, hire more people, or spend a lot of money. (In fact, our plan will save them money – a lot of it!) Best of all, our strategy is built to enable the doctors to spend their valuable time tending to patients.
We originally planned to help small businesses. But when we conducted our due diligence, the strongest response we received was from doctors: dermatologists, plastic surgeons, executive physicians, dentists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, pediatricians, veterinarians, and more. We have created a secret sauce with one simple ingredient: strategy.
If you’re a doctor or work closely with a medical practice or clinic, I hope you’ll join our free Facebook Group. Just click HERE!
If you’re not a doctor, we hope you’ll share this exciting news with your friends in medicine!
Thank you and Happy JABBING!

Do You Like to Cook?
One of our favorite nonprofits, Touching Miami with Love (TML) is inviting local restaurants, civic groups, church/religious groups and corporations to share their love through food service. You, your family, your church or temple, your business, or your friends can sign up to serve as a Guest Chef to cook a meal for the kids TML serves. They ask volunteers to create fun, healthy, delicious meals every Wednesday (Overtown) or every Thursday (Homestead). You bring the food and we’ll provide the rest. From takeout pizza to gourmet meals — we’ve got a spot for you! Just click HERE.
