View this email in your browser

To thank you for your support and passion for the Birkie, we invite our American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF) members to cast their vote for the 2015-2016 board of directors and join us for the ABSF annual celebration and meeting on August 8 at the OO Trailhead in Seeley, WI.

In true Birkie style, we’ve planned a day in the north woods filled with trail runs, bike rides, and a Nordic trek.  Following the day’s activities, we'll gather for a social hour, picnic-style dinner and then get down to business for our annual meeting.  If you're interested in joining us for dinner and attending the annual meeting, join now!

Before we head into the woods to celebrate another great year for the ABSF, we're pleased to announce that the Birkie is going green!  In an effort to save time, money, postage and paper, this year’s ABSF board of directors election process will be paperless and online. Tomorrow (Monday, 7/13) you will receive an email from Amy Rowley, Birkie Development Director, that will include a link to your voting ballot.  ABSF members will vote to fill 4 seats on the board of directors, as well as vote on an important ABSF By-laws change.  Before you vote, we invite you to meet the candidates for the 2015-2016 ABSF board of directors.  Please watch your in-box (and your junk mail) for this important email.  All votes must be cast by July 30, 2015 and election results will be announced at the annual meeting.

It's amazing that what started as a humble ski-race in the north woods of Wisconsin has grown to become the largest cross-country ski marathon in North America.  As the race has grown, so has the mission of the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF).  Today, the Birkie represents, not only the legendary ski-marathon, but a variety of silent sports activities and events designed to help people of all ages and abilities live a healthy, active lifestyle year-round.

It is through the ongoing support of our ABSF members that we are able to maintain the iconic Birkie Trail, host world class events, and develop the next generation of skiers, runners, bikers and trekkers.  Thank you for your commitment to and support of the ABSF mission - we couldn't do it with out you!

If you aren't an ABSF member and would like to cast your vote for the Board of Directors, it is easy to join by clicking the green button below.  All are welcome to attend the annual celebration, however, if you plan to join us for a great dinner that evening, please RSVP with the blue button below so that we may plan accordingly.

Thanks, again, and we hope to see you on August 8th!
