Blue Raster was a proud sponsor of the GIS for a Sustainable World Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. This annual conference, organized by UNOSAT and Esri, brings together global organizations interested in corporate sustainability and achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. It was a great opportunity to connect with our international colleagues and clients at World Health Organization, Forest Stewardship Council, and Esri, as well as meet new contacts and future collaborators in the industry. We also presented our work with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development'sIndia Water Tool.
Blue Raster's project manager Christina Phang, along with GIS interns Kelly Motzko and Joe Nadonley, designed and presented a story map at Esri's "The Magic of Maps: How to Engage and Inspire Your Community" event. The StoryMap was made using the new ArcGIS StoryMaps (currently in Beta). Titled Measuring Success, it details how some of Blue Raster’s nonprofit partners are tracking the progress of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Esri released a podcast episode featuring Blue Raster Co-founder, Michael Lippmann. The podcast explores how location intelligence and advanced analytics are improving the vision of decision makers in government, business, and sustainable development. It's baseball season, so we headed to the ballpark. We got to sport our new Blue Raster baseball caps while celebrating the Nationals beating the Cubs. Go Nats!
Did you know Blue Raster has an active biking club? We celebratedBike to Work Day by biking to lunch together and eating outside. We also rode our bikes to Mappy Hour in DC and learned about new bike routes coming to the DC, MD & VA area.
