Global Forest Watch Fires

Actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio shared a post on Instagram featuring Global Forest Watch Fires. He suggested the application as a great way for people to stay informed about the fires in the Amazon. The post received over 1.1 million likes and created major spikes in traffic to the GFW Fires site. It's great to see the impact of our work on a global scale.
Emergency Management Workshop

Disaster Response Workshop

The Blue Raster team attended an ArcGIS Solutions for Emergency Management workshop at Esri’s Redlands Campus to learn about the range of products that help emergency management officials manage response resources and visualize events. We are excited to add these capabilities to our continuously growing line of GIS professional services, and our team is ready to contribute to new emergency preparedness and disaster response efforts.
ArcGIS Urban Workshop

ArcGIS Urban Workshop

Project Manager Megan Gottfried took her ArcGIS Urban skills to the next level at Esri’s "Deploying ArcGIS Urban" training. The new ArcGIS Urban platform is an innovative, 3D experience designed to streamline urban planning processes and municipal decision-making. Megan learned both the back-end and front-end of ArcGIS Urban to be prepared to provide our clients with tips and best practices for deployment.
Shannon Lindsay

New Power BI Team

Meet Shannon Lindsay, our newest team member. Shannon is leading our Power BI practice at Blue Raster and has already made great contributions to the TRACE project. Previously, Shannon was the Senior Informatics Officer at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. She has an MPH in Global Health Systems & Development from Tulane University and she also heads up the local DC Power BI User Group. We are excited to grow the Power BI team
Esri GIS Manager Workshop

Esri GIS Leadership Workshop

Blue Raster co-founder Stephen Ansari presented at the GIS Leadership Workshop, hosted at the Esri R&D Center in Arlington, VA. The event featured presentations from the Esri community and was attended by GIS Managers from many different business sectors. Stephen demonstrated how our client, Green-Wood Cemetery, is embracing Location Intelligence beyond the map to support their mission.
ArcGIS Marketplace Listing

ArcGIS Marketplace

New in the ArcGIS Marketplace: Blue Raster offers ArcGIS Accelerate Professional Services to help users quickly and easily tap into the power of ArcGIS Online and the entire Esri suite of tools. We offer professional service support packages to help users successfully set up, implement, and launch ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Hub, ArcGIS Indoors, ArcGIS StoryMaps and Configurable Mobile Apps.
GIS for Workforce Development

GIS for Workforce Development

We recently helped the American Institutes for Research (AIR) produce a national-level work-based learning map. Built using ArcGIS Online and the Esri JavaScript API, the map can be custom-tailored to specific state or local agency leadership teams. Using these maps, teams can contextualize their workforce development initiatives and refine their understanding of resources and socioeconomic distribution across their region.
Geo DC Meetup

Geo DC Meetup

Interns Joseph Nadonley and Kelly Motzko presented at the Geo DC Summer Intern Showcase. Kelly talked about her work with the Jane Goodall Institute on the ArcGIS StoryMap, ENAGE - LISTEN - UNDERSTAND - ACT, and Joe demonstrated his work with drones to study turfgrass analysis and vegetation management at Green-Wood Cemetery. It was a great way to end their summers at Blue Raster. The next Geo DC meetup is September 4th.
