This April marks the 17th anniversary of Blue Raster. In connection with this milestone and Earth Day, we celebrated by volunteering at the Anacostia Watershed Society's Earth Day Cleanup event. We also had cake! We are grateful for our clients and partners for continued business and support throughout the years.
We're growing! We expanded our office space and welcomed three new developers to the team this month. Will Nixon is a graduate from the Thinkful coding bootcamp and recently relocated from California. He moved to D.C. just in time for the cherry blossoms! Eden Mesfun comes to us from HWC Inc, where she worked as a Web Developer after graduating from Flatiron School. Prior to that, Eden earned her master's degree in International Political Economy at Brussels School of International Studies. Vaidotas Piekus joins us after working at the Navy Federal Credit Union as a Process Improvement Analyst. He brings over 3 years of project management and business analysis experience to our development team. We are excited to welcome them to the team!
GIS Analyst Daniel Cassiday and Application Developer Xhafer Rama joined other GIS specialists, environmental scientists, and leaders at the AAG Annual Meeting in D.C. to discuss the latest in advancing geography, sustainability, and GIScience. In addition to giving presentations, Xhafer and Danny represented Blue Raster at the Friday night reception celebrating the retirement of Executive Director, Doug Richardson.
