Reduce - Prepare - Respond
A sustainability education kit for children and adults
Join Climate Ready Dora Creek next Tuesday 5 August for a fun, hands-on workshop about how you can use this education kit to engage with your local school or community group.
The kit contains a comprehensive program of lesson plans and activities that explore climate change, its consequences, and what we can do about it.
Workshop bookings are essential.  All the details are available here.
Virtual experts
About 30 volunteers attended our online collaboration training session last week, hosted by the Dudley Sustainable Neighbourhood Group.  While we didn't quite get through our ambitious agenda, participants were introduced to some useful tools.
Some notes and a link to continue the conversation (online!) are now available.
Thank you to Dan and the Dudley team for organising and presenting the session!

Essential Health and Safety Training

Is someone from your group booked in to attend this training coming up on 27 August?
Workplace Health and Safety legislation applies to volunteers as much as paid employees. This training session will cover your responsibilities as a volunteer, and will equip you to safely manage your Sustainable Neighbourhood activities.
The Alliance requires that at least one representative from each group attends this training to ensure access to insurance for your projects and activities.
Visit the web page for further information and to book your place.

Sustainable Neighbourhoods at the Living Smart Festival
Council's Living Smart Festival is coming up on Saturday 27 September, and we'll be running a stall to promote Sustainable Neighbourhood groups and activiites.
It's a great opportunity to access a keen audience, let the wider community know about your fantastic projects, and spend some time with some other lovely Sustainable Neighbourhood volunteers.
We are looking for volunteers to (wo)man the stall for 2 hour shifts on the day.
Get in touch if you are keen to help out.
