Internet tools and warm treats

Our 'Online collaboration' training is shaping up to be a great evening next Tuesday 22 July.
Find out what internet tools are available and how your group might find them useful.
As an extra treat, Dan and Beth's (non-alcoholic) gluwein and gingerbread will be available for donation to the Dudley Sustainable Neighbourhood Group - yum!

Seeking community leaders

Did you know that the Sustainable Neighbourhood Alliance is managed by a board of Sustainable Neighbourhood volunteers from across the city?

We are seeking new board members - particularly if you have expertise in project management, financial management, marketing or strategic planning.

Here's some information about our current board members, and board member roles and responsibilities.
We'd like to officially welcome our newest member group, the Greater Charlestown Sustainable Neighbourhood Group - welcome aboard!

The Dora Creek Sustainable Neighbourhood Group have created an education kit that you can use to run activities for adults and children.
Join this workshop on 5 August to find out how the kit works, and how you can access it.

Southlake promotion opportunity
Sustainable Neighbourhood groups from Morisset, Cooranbong and Dora Creek are teaming up to run a regular stall at the new Morisset monthly markets. If your group would like to lend a hand or promote your activities, get in touch with Tom Toogood via

Environmental Sustainability Grants

The next round of Council's Environmental Sustainability grants are opening on 28 July, and will close Monday 8 September 2014.

These grants offer up to $3,000 to not-for-profit community groups to support community initiated projects that improve our local environment and inspire environmentally sustainable behaviour within Lake Macquarie City.
