Join the Wangi Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group for a special guest presentation by Declan Clausen.
Declan will discuss his learning and training as an international leader in the Climate Reality Project, aimed at educating people about the effects of climate change, and working towards sustainable worldwide solutions.

Holding an information stall at a local event is a great way to meet other locals, and promote your projects.
Volunteers from any Sustainable Neighbourhood group are welcome to join in at these upcoming promotional stalls.  Click on the links below to enquire about helping out on a stall near you.

We are seeking individuals with experience in fundraising, project management, marketing or strategic planning to join our team and help support the great work of local Sustainable Neighbourhood Groups.

Health and Safety
Thank you to those who attended our Health and Safety training last week.
Here's an overview of some the main health and safety considerations for Sustainable Neighbourhood volunteers.

All Sustainable Neighbourhood groups need to regularly discuss health and safety issues.  Tip:  Add workplace health and safety as a standing agenda item for your group meetings, and encourage your volunteers to raise their concerns or ideas for making your activities safer.

Environmental Sustainability Grants

The next round of Council's Environmental Sustainability grants close on Monday 8 September 2014.

These grants offer up to $3,000 to not-for-profit community groups to support community initiated projects that improve our local environment and inspire environmentally sustainable behaviour within Lake Macquarie City.

Further information and the application package are now available on Council's website.

Please let us know asap if you are planning on applying and would like the Alliance to sponsor your application.
