Sustainable Neighbourhoods News

Time for renewal

Every year, your Sustainable Neighbourhood group needs to update their financial membership, and hold a 'special meeting' (equivalent to an Annual General Meeting) to elect your committee members.

The Alliance has tentatively scheduled our Annual General Meeting for  Saturday 14 November, so it is important that local groups have completed their own meetings at least a couple of weeks before that date.

This webpage details the steps each group needs to take to renew their membership and elect your 2015-16 committee.

2015 Living Smart Festival

Council's Living Smart Festival is on again!  Save the date for Saturday 26 September, 8am-2pm.

The festival is a fun event to attend, and one of the best opportunities to reach potential new volunteers and promote the excellent work of Sustainable Neighbourhood groups.

We are looking for volunteers to help out at the Sustainable Neighbourhoods stall there on the day.  Please let us know if you will be available for 2-3 hour shift, so that we can get started on a roster.

Do you have a project or idea you think other Sustainable Neighbourhood volunteers around Lake Macquarie would be interested in? Email us at and we can include it in the next edition.
