New Hymn!

Having spent some time in contemplation of the rich benefits given to those who literally "house" the Holy Spirit of God within us (what a thought!) -- I was compelled to write out the lyrics to this new hymn, "No, Not Alone".  And to think that having the Spirit of God within us, though unseen, is of greater benefit than to have Christ in flesh living among us still!  Don't take my word for it -- those were the words of Jesus Himself in John 16:7, "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you."

This is perhaps a topic most sadly under emphasized.....and yet a gift of far greater magnitude than we may ever realize this side of eternity: God with us.  God in us.

I am not alone without a Helper,
I am not alone while on my knees,
For when my feeble prayers fall silent,
With groaning deep, the Spirit speaks for me.
(Romans 8:26)
No, not alone without a Teacher,
No, not alone without a Guide.
I understand what once was mystery;
The Spirit gives to me the mind of Christ.
(1 Corinthians 2:13-16)

I am not alone without a promise,
Not without a claim on Heaven's prize.
Because the Spirit dwells within me,
Now everything in Christ is surely mine!
(Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:11)
No, not alone without a Witness,
The Voice within has testified,
"You are a child of God the Father".
How clearly I have heard His silent cry!
(Romans 8:15-16)

I am not alone without His power,
For the God Who saves will sanctify.
The Spirit breathed and I awakened.
Now with that very power He purifies.
(Galatians 3:3; Romans 8:12-14)
No, not alone without a boldness,
Replacing fear with love and might.
Oh, what a gift the Spirit gives me --
To bravely stand and boast of Jesus Christ!
(Acts 4:8-13; 2 Timothy 1:7)

I am not alone without a Comfort,
I am not alone to face the storm.
The Prince of Peace has sent His Spirit.
Oh, what is there to calm or comfort more?
(John 14:16; Isaiah 9:6)
No, not alone without His presence;
Though all forsake, He still remains!
Who could have known when Christ departed
Just how much closer now my God became?
(John 16:7; Matthew 28:20)

The God Who came would rise and go
Up through the clouds, up to His home.
Yet, as He went a promise He sent,
"I will never leave you all alone."
(Matthew 28:20)

Tour Begins THIS WEEK!

I believe it's safe to assume that at least 3 of our 4 singers are very eager to enjoy the warmer Florida weather this next week!  (The less-frozen 4th actually lives down south :D)  Our team (myself, my in-laws Andrew & Hannah Schopf, and Hannah's cousin, Rick McDonnell) is eagerly preparing for a 6-concert tour, spanning quite a distance, touching parts of Georgia and Florida.

Spread the word!  We would love to meet more friends at these concerts!

Thank-you for your prayers on our behalf.  Pray with us for the Holy Spirit's power -- the indispensable part of our trip and ministry!
