Judges visit Northwich as part of North West in Bloom Awards
Judges from the North West in Bloom Awards have visited Northwich to take a look at the projects and initiatives that have come to fruition within the last few months.

On Tuesday 30th July, volunteers and representatives from the Northwich Business Improvement District (BID), Northwich Town Council, Love my River Northwich and Grozone Community Garden showed the judges around the town centre and also took them to a number of locations in the wider Northwich area.
The partnership working between the Northwich BID and Northwich Town Council was also highlighted with a particular focus on the planters and hanging baskets that bring colour and vibrancy to Northwich throughout the year.

Northwich will be aiming to go one better after achieving the Silver Gilt in 2018 which was the town’s first entry into the competition.

Learn about the different projects and locations they visited by reading the full press release.

Fresh new look for Matalan Northwich
Northwich’s Matalan has a fresh new look after undergoing a major refurbishment throughout the store.

Shoppers can now benefit from new lighting, flooring and a revamped customer service area, while there is also a new market place which has been designed to highlight key ranges.
Elsewhere there are enhanced departments across homeware and lingerie, a Card Factory concession and a section dedicated to Totally Toys which features characters from popular suppliers such as Paw Patrol and Hatchimals.

Matalan’s Retail Director Mike Jeans has explained why the redevelopment has taken place at the Northwich store. Head to the Visit Northwich website to read the full press release.

Businesses enter 'In Bloom' window display competition
As you know, Northwich has entered the North West In Bloom competition again this year and is going for gold after being awarded the Silver Gilt in 2018.

To celebrate, shops and pubs in the town centre have entered a floral display competition organised by the Northwich Business Improvement District.

With the link shared via Visit Northwich and the poll live on Facebook, it is now up to visitors to the town centre to vote for their favourite.
Taking part are Bella Boutique, The Salthouse NW, The BullRing NW, Pretty Princess Cakes and Bakes, CRS Consultants, Barons Lounge, House of Quirk, St Luke’s Hospice, Northwich Art Shop, Stateside Bar and Grill, The Salty Dog, Sue Ryder and Crafty Stitches.

If you’re one of the above businesses, make sure you encourage visitors to your store/premises to vote for you to give you the best chance of winning!
