REMINDER TO DISPLAY YOUR MAKATON STICKER
A quick reminder to all businesses who have attended Makaton Training to display your Makaton sticker in your shop window.

Our aim is for those that use Makaton as a communication tool to feel confident entering and communicating with as many businesses in our town centre as possible, so it’s important to display if you’ve been trained. Thank you to all of you who participated in the training. There will be further opportunities for businesses who wish to attend in the future.
Vote Today to Help Northwich Win The Rising Star in Great British High Street Awards
For the second year running, Northwich has been shortlisted for the ‘Rising Star Award’ in the Great British High Street Awards, sponsored by Visa, after the town was entered by the Northwich Business Improvement District (BID).

Northwich BID Manager Jane Hough believes the town has a great chance to go one better than being awarded the runner-up prize that it received in 2018.

“Once again we’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the Rising Star Award which is testament to what the Northwich BID is trying to achieve here in the town with the help of partners and the community. “

The finalists will now battle it out in a public vote, which accounts for 20 percent of the final scoring, and will then have the chance to impress an expert judging panel as they seek to be crowned Britain’s best.

Northwich Mindfulness Day 2019
Louise Hough from Crafty Stitches, with help from the Northwich BID and a number of businesses across the town, is organising Northwich’s first ever Mindfulness Day.

The event will take place on Saturday 7th September, with the aim of encouraging members of the public to participate in a number of ‘mindful activities’ hosted by businesses across the town centre.

Crafty Stitches will be hosting various activities including: Learn to Knit, Diamond Art Taster, and Sock Knitting for Socks Against Suicide (supported by the Samaritans and youths who have completed their NCS). Vinnie’s is also running half hour slots for cupcake decorating, fondant flower making and baking and various gyms are also getting involved to help run taster sessions.

More details will be released next week across the Visit Northwich social channels.
Northwich Pride August 2020
Northwich will be hosting its very own family focused Pride Event in August 2020!

A steering group has been formed to bring the event together with the date of Saturday 1st August 2020 already agreed.

Would you like to put your business forward to contribute towards this exciting event?

BID Manager Jane Hough is calling on local businesses to get involved by hosting events, running stalls, or coming out in the town centre to deliver an event on the day.

A best dressed business/window competition will also be running so it’s the perfect opportunity to get creative.

If you would like to get involved, let Jane know by Monday 16th September by emailing: Jane.Hough@groundwork.org.uk
Congratulations to Bella Boutique and The Salty Dog!
Two businesses within the town have come out on top in a public vote after entering a competition as part of Northwich in Bloom.

A range of the town’s retailers entered the ‘Best Dressed Business’ competition which had two different categories for pubs and shops, with entrants adorning their shop fronts, gardens and window displays with creative designs.

Hundreds had their say on the Visit Northwich Facebook page as visitors voted for the display they thought was best over a two week period.
It was Bella Boutique who triumphed in the shops section with CRS Consultants in second and Crafty Stitches in third. In the other half of the competition Stateside Bar & Kitchen and Barons Lounge were beaten into second and third respectively by The Salty Dog.

The top three will now receive a trophy for their efforts while Bella Boutique and The Salty Dog will also be given a bottle of champagne to mark their success.
