|The Law of Use
Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! For in our union with Christ he has blessed us by giving us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world.
These spiritual blessings as recorded for us in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians are the key benefits of a relationship with God our Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That word blessed is a translation of the Greek word eulogy which means “to speak well of.” Hear that, loved one, and plant it deep within your heart. God has spoken good things about us. He has spoken good things for our benefit, and He has decreed good things for us as His children that are beyond our ability to number!
But in hearing, also understand that with these blessings comes responsibility to which we are held accountable. This principle is referred to as “The Law of Use” which Jesus put forth in His parable from Luke 19:11-27. And, I would encourage each of us to keep this guiding principle in the forefront of our minds as we do our business each day.
For we are each given these blessings as a measure for use in faith and are called to occupy as good stewards of them towards the advancement of His Kingdom until He returns. We are called to be His laborers together with God (1 Corinthians 3:9
) and His ambassadors in bringing the message of reconciliation to a lost and foreign land (2 Corinthians 5:20
). And, with them, we have a confidence as the bride of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2
); a peace that passes understanding (Philippians 4:7
); and an assurance that nothing is able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:39
). Hallelujah, and amen!
So, go forth. Go forth knowing that to those who have, more will be given. More and more. Go forth in fearless venture, in even greater measures of risk-taking by faith and trust in the One Who calls you. And, go forth knowing the enemies of the King will be slain.
He who calls you is faithful; He will surely do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:24
I have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
