You may remember your photo being taken for a video, to represent something of what we're about at St Mary's. The rather wonderful, moving product of this has been on the website for a while now, but in case you haven't seen it already, here it is.

Many thanks to Sara Stoneham for putting all this together
and to Matt and Phan for the photography and design.
Thoughts from a Sabbatical - from Dilly

‘Buen Camino!’ are the two words that have been ringing in my ears for the last 5 weeks. Walking across northern Spain (beginning in the French Pyrenees), following the ancient medieval pilgrimage route to Santiago, I clocked up nearly 500 miles. Every time I passed a fellow pilgrim we would exchange those words, ‘Buen Camino’ which roughly translated means, ‘safe travelling’ or ‘go well’.  Since returning from Spain I find myself musing on what it was all about; indeed why did I choose to make the journey in the first place?

I first heard about the Camino to Santiago de Compostela about 10 years ago from a friend in the Yorkshire Dales. ‘It clears out all the rubbish and puts you back in touch with what’s really important to you’, I remember her saying... read more.

Seasonal Celebrations
At the top: remembering our loved ones on All Souls day. Bottom left: for our Patronal Festival, remembering that God is at work in things we notice, things we miss, in church and out, in those around us.  Bottom right: remembering the generosity of God and being generous ourselves at our Harvest celebrations.
Last year the Winter Market was excellent and raised a huge amount of money for the work at St Mary's. Back by popular demand, and through the hard work and organisation of many, you have another chance to purchase high-quality crafted goods and decorations and to enjoy some seasonal refreshments! Spread the word to everyone you know - they won't be disappointed!

If you would like to help on the day then please speak to Matt after the services on Sunday and he'll point you in the right direction. Also, the mulled wine proved very popular last year, so we need as much red wine as we can muster. If you can donate some, please bring it with you on Sunday morning.
