IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2018 PRIMARY ELECTION
Reminder: County Committee and State Committee People are elected on the Primary Ballot.
At the May 2018 Primary, Lebanon County Democratic Committee members and our State Committee representatives will be elected for the next 4-year term. For our Committee, three members will be elected for each precinct. For the 2018-2022 term, Lebanon County is allocated 2 seats on the State Committee, one male, one female; those two positions will be on the Primary ballot as well.
The calendar of events leading up to the Primary are as follows:
7 – LCDC DEMINAR ON PETITIONS AND RUNNING FOR COUNTY COMMITTEE
13 – 1st Day to circulate and file petitions
21 – LCDC County Meeting & Petition Signing Event
Tbd – Petition Review and Free Notary at HQ and Liriano Office
6 – Last day to circulate and file petitions
21 – Last day for withdrawal by candidates who filed petitions
16 – Last day to register to vote for the Primary
8 – Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot
9 – LCDC County Meeting and Meet the Candidates Night (remember in addition to local candidates for county committee and state committee, there arealso candidates for Governor, Lt. Gov., US Senate, US Congress, State Senate and State House)
11 – Last day for County to receive voted civilian absentee ballots
15 – PRIMARY ELECTION
LCDC will hold training sessions for anyone interested in running for the county committee. The Campaign Committee will provide guidance for the petition process.
Anyone interested in running for State Committee should attend the PADem training at the February State Committee meeting at the Hilton Hotel [Harrisburg] on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm. The Department of State will be conducting the training for our members. Please plan on attending if you are interested in running for a State Committee position. All petitions will now be completed online at the Department of State website.
