FROM THE CHAIR

We are less than 100 days away from one of the most important mid-term elections in decades.   Close congressional and senate races in PA and across the country must be won by Democrats in order to send a message to the president and his party that we are angry as heck, and we’re not going to take it anymore!

Lebanon Democrats are working to do our part.  Every vote counts to reelect Gov. Wolf, Sen. Casey and to win as many congressional and state races as possible.  Lois Herr, running for State Senate, Cesar Liriano for House District 101, and Denny Wolff, our congressional candidate for the new 9th Congressional District all need our votes and support to ensure victory in November.

There are many events happening in August leading up to an even busier September. The Democratic office will be open on Tuesdays from 5-7 pm and on Thursdays from 3-5 pm starting on August 14, for people to pick up candidate information and yard signs supporting our candidates.

Ben Ratiewicz from the PADEMS Office is here to help coordinate our campaigns to elect Democrats.  Starting August 18, he will be at our Headquarters every Saturday to set up door to door canvasing and on Tuesdays to organize phone banks. We always need more volunteers to work in their neighborhood precincts contacting voters.  Call the office and leave a message and we will respond - (717) 273-8761.

This year’s Fiesta Latina will be again held at Beautex Park on Saturday August 25 from 11:00 - 5:00 pm.  Music, dancing and lots of good food will be available at the festival, along with the third annual Latina Idol contest.

In Memoriam, It is with sadness I report the passing of Richard (Dick) Charles of Cornwall Manor.  Dick was a retired university administrator from F&M and Lebanon Valley College.  In 2016 Dick was elected as a Democrat and served on the Cornwall Borough Council until his recent passing.  Funeral services are listed with the Kreamer Funeral Home in Annville, PA .

Date Change: An important message for Democratic Committee members is that our regular scheduled September meeting will be moved from the first Wednesday of the month to the second Wednesday -- September 12, starting at 7:00 pm.

Dan Sidelnick,
Chair
