New AFS Global Competence Readiness Index for Schools supported by the OECD 
AFS Global Competence Readiness Index
A recent AFS pilot study completed in over 450 schools found most schools are not prepared to develop global competence in students. That's why AFS launched a new and free tool, AFS Global Competence Readiness Index for Schools, officially supported by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). AFS Chief Global Engagement Officer, Melissa Liles explains how this tool helps educators and schools identify how prepared they are to develop their students’ global competence. Find out more.

Giving Tuesday in Dominican Republic
AFS Dominican Republic welcomed a group of 54 global leaders from 36 countries at the annual #GivingTuesday Global Summit in Santo Domingo this May. #GivingTuesday (27 November 2018) is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Find out more.
AFS Volunteers
AFS Guatemala gathered volunteers from Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Panama to work with 130 primary school students and 13 teachers of San Lucas Sacatepequez on developing global competence. In the words a participant, "Through this program we learned to be more tolerant, respectful and understanding toward differences."
