RDS SE Fellowships event, Brighton

3 June 2020, venue tbc 

This NIHR Fellowships event will be open to anyone across Kent, Surrey and Sussex who is considering applying for one of the NIHR fellowships. The aim of the day is to raise awareness and understanding of the various NIHR Fellowship opportunities amongst clinicians, practitioners and researchers and there will be guest speakers including NIHR Fellows and panel members.

RDS SE Research Journey Lunchtime Seminar, Brighton

12.30 - 2.30pm 17 June 2020, University of Brighton, Falmer

Professor Catherine Evans, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and King's College London, and Professor Kathy Greenwood, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and University of Sussex, will talk about their own journeys in balancing clinical work with successful research.

Artificial Intelligence Health and Care Award launches 

The NIHR, in partnership with the Accelerated Access Collaborative and NHSX, has launched a new Artificial Intelligence Health and Care Award. The award, part of the NHS Artificial Intelligence Lab, will deploy £140m over three years to accelerate the testing and evaluation of the most promising AI technologies.

NIHR joins colleagues to improve UK research culture

Results of a survey of over 4,000 researchers, published by Wellcome Trust, have revealed high levels of stress and insecurity with many researchers experiencing long hours and aggressive working conditions. The NIHR has a number of activities underway which will help tackle this challenge, including implementation of an equality, diversity and inclusion plan.
