Movement is a prayer that invites consciousness to land in specific, heartfelt ways. Nothing separate from life, simply an example, a mode of expression. How we express through gesture, touch, thought, word and deed is an art form above all else.
Every expression of spiritual or artistic practice has recognized this within the pulse of the human heart. Each sacred discipline aroused by the temporal hope that there will be reconciliation of purpose by giving birth to that which we value, love and cherish.
I am fascinated by the ways in which these hallowed practices take root and grow, as they unfold, as they become the beautiful array of clarity, calm and connection within us. When a part of us awakens to the belief that there is a source greater than ourselves we recognize we are apart of a grander design.
We come home to a presence that holds our belonging with the world.
In moments of doubt we can be reassured of our own vitality in the quest for knowing and embrace the unknown by reestablishing direction. Aligning with our own humility in the face of uncertainty to develop the tenacity to stay with that which calls us forward.
This practice of Opening, to invite the deeper mind to step forward, requires us to begin a process of surrender. To soften. To let go. To forgive. To loosen the tether of the rational thinking mind and drop into the less known thresholds of the heart - It Is Here, that BEAUTY dwells and where the LIGHT of Intellect lives.
To Begin is almost always difficult, frightening at times, for surrender is certain death to the ego child. As resistance surfaces, like the mirror for that which fear has unconsciously built, Bravery becomes a choice whereby we decide stay with our courage and redefine the art of our BEING here.
"May the nourishment of the earth be yours, May the clarity of light be yours, May the fluency of the ocean be yours, And may the protection of the ancestors be yours.”

PRIVATE YOGA FOR COUPLES is an exceptional way for you and your partner to begin a yoga practice together.
Designed for couples to share in the numerous gifts yoga has to offer, in this specific format the two practice alongside one another in a nurturing, non-competitive way that will tend to the unique needs of both individuals simultaneously.
Many private clients who are couples started together at the beginning, having varying abilities, some without any experience at all, and most with different needs between them. It inspired me to find ways to reconcile these differences and translate the practice so that ultimately both were invited to see the beauty of their process. Each recognizing how compassion, acceptance and self-discovery unfolded in unique and complementary ways in the shared experience between them.
The complexity and multi-faceted nature to this work is subtle and beautiful. Its potency and richness rests gently in the space between them. It never fails to reveal the power of our own tender nature, unveiling the truth that the highest form of yoga is how we love and live in relationship to one another.
I feel deeply honored to be part of their journey and adore the work we do together. I am moved by their willingness to engage the frontiers of their experience and to hold compassionate space for their tender openings is both a privilege and a blessing. My love for this work and deep appreciation for them proves ever more to be infinite.
· Re-awakened in me an appreciation for my spouse. We each explore our physical and emotional learning edges in quite different ways. And our practice of yoga reflects these differences. As we grow in our practice, I am inspired by my husband’s motivation to master what is new and the delight he feels in.It encourages me to seek mastery too.
· Provided a new opportunity to practice the art of giving and receiving love and support. In couples yoga, we are each on our own mat, yet our mats are only inches apart. It is an intimate and vulnerable setting. We laugh, we encourage, we cajole, we irritate, we challenge, we celebrate. Importantly, the connection that has deepened on our mats, flows off our mats. Couples yoga with Andrea has enriched our relationship.
· Created a new, fun activity to share with my spouse. We now look forward to doing yoga together by ourselves and finding classes on vacations.Part of the fun, is reporting back to Andrea what we learned and experienced!”
