Making this year’s UWC Day even more special, today we also announce the beginning of UWC’s 60th anniversary celebrations under the overall theme: EDUCATING FOR PEACE. Striving to change the world since 1962.

What started in October 1962 with the founding of our first college, UWC Atlantic, has now grown into a thriving global movement, which includes 18 schools and colleges, hundreds of short courses, more than 4,000 volunteers, 60,000 alumni, educators, partners, donors, students, and staff.

To mark this special milestone of 60 years of education for peace, we are celebrating with the whole UWC community over the next twelve months - honouring the changemakers that have made UWC possible, reflecting on our journey so far, and looking forward to the next 60 years. To start the celebrations, we invite you to a special anniversary event taking place on Friday, 30 September at 4pm UTC, (streaming live on Zoom, UWC International’s Facebook page and Youtube channel). Speakers will include UWC President, Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, UWC International's Executive Director, Faith Abiodun, as well as many others from across the UWC movement.
