Happy Monday!

Congrats to RapidAPI for raising $150M Series D!  I met Iddo when he only 17 and he decided to move to the United States by himself from Israel.  He was the youngest founder in my 500 MC fund.  I am so proud of him. =)

Here's 7 great reads for this week:

  • The venture fundraising market will be tough - Ukraine, inflation, climate tech, SPAC and IPO cooling down will impact fund manager fundraising. What goes (too far) up, must come down?  Read more
  • Are these 🦄🦄🦄 overvalued? - Many late-stage startup that raised huge growth rounds in 2021 applying 2022 public comps to their  private valuations. Can Hopin, Gopuff, Patreon, Instacart, Discord, Chime and FTX live up to expectation?
  • Early pitch decks of 29 startups before they became 🦄 -  My favorites are Coinbase (when the price of bitcoin was around $6.25), Canva and MySQL's 186 slides Series B deck.
  • The Latecomer’s Guide to Crypto - New York Times does an awesome job with their What is Defi and What is Web3
  • Congress likes to trade - Last year, Congress bought and sold nearly $290M in stocks, $140M in options contracts (270+ transactions by 6 members), $124M in private equity funds (200+ transactions by 19 members), and $500k in cryptocurrencies (25 transactions by 6 members). Politicians traded more than ever before. Nancy Pelosi is #1 Democrat trader.  Wow.
  • 2022 State of Web3 and Crypto Venture Investment - The Nasdaq Center and I hosted a Webinar this past week. Check out the video.
  • Tom Brady sent Vitalik 🐐 tweet - But Vitalik thought Tom Brady was Tom Cruise. This is too funny not to share.
This week a total of 24 startups raised $894.8M in fundingM&As:
  • $339.3M goes to 8 Enterprise startups
