I don't think it is too late to wish you a hopeful new year and I hope it is going ok for you so far.

I feel I am made for winter lockdown and with my natural inclination of hibernating, I am doing OK, as well as, working by the principle of having low expectations, it reduces my disappointment.

This January, especially, I am struggling to get motivated and get going and I am sure I am not alone, but I am forcing myself out of my comfort zone. I am using my knowledge and experience of how important it is to connect and converse with others to fill my diary with plenty of virtual coffees with friends and people they know rather than with strangers. If you fancy catching up, drop me a note!

It is one of the many things that I have decided to stop doing. With the current situation, I am finding it hard to make future plans and decisions when things are so ambigious and we don't have timelines to focus on, therefore, I have stopped doing what I don't enjoy and removed elements of my work/life in order to make space for things that bring me joy.

It feels a little childish and immature, but I hold by the principle that I should be able to do more of what I enjoy and less of what I don't to live the life I want. All I need now is for some things to come along that will fill that joy space.....

This gave me some perspective, no answers, but when time to ourselves seems endless, we need to give ourselves a break. Laurence recommends the book The Wisdom of Insecurity by Alan Watts, which is now on my reading list to read next.

Find practical approaches to building an environment for teams that need to work together and make decisions quickly. In life and death situations, Sabrina Cohen-Hatton does that daily, in a very male dominated environment, as a small women. Inspiring and insightful. An easy read with gold on every page.

Whilst this focusses on success in teams and what Clive did for the England Rugby squad, I really got the most from the TCUP - thinking correctly under pressure, which looks at pre-empting situations and deciding what you would do before you ever need to do it.
